I chopped off the tip of the first finger on my right hand. I immediately prayed over it with a brother in Christ, taped it up, and carried on working. Later that evening, I went to a friend who was a nurse to have it dressed. She looked at it and said, “You need to go to the hospital, because that will not grow back.” I said, “Yes, it will.” She dressed it, and I went home.
Four days later, I thought I’d better go and have it looked at, so I went to a walk-in clinic. Two nurses looked at it and were confused, because there was nothing they could do. One said to the other, “We can’t sew it back on, because the tip is missing, and it can’t grow back.” So they just put on a new bandage and sent me home.
I kept believing, against all the odds, that it would grow back. Three weeks passed. I remember looking at my finger one Saturday night: it had gone black and looked horrible. My first reaction was, “It’s going to drop off.” Then I remembered that I had prayed, and God hadn’t changed His mind, and neither had I. His Word says I’m healed. I went to bed trusting His Word.
That night, I felt my finger tingling. I knew something was happening, but I didn’t bother to look. The next morning, I checked my finger and was shocked to see that the tip had completely grown back. I had a brand-new fingertip. Praise God!
