My life with Christ began when the life of a colleague of mine ended. I grew up as a Christian and in the true Gospel. I was baptised at an early age but never really lived for God. During my teenage years, I began to stray from God, and when I turned eighteen, I considered myself finished with the church. I drifted through my twenties, eventually getting married and having two children, but I was empty on the inside. Eventually, my wife left me, and I raised my two children with the help of my family. As I drifted along, my life began to sink, but I could feel something deep inside calling me. After one bad relationship after another, I told God I would wait on Him in all things, including a spouse.
I had a colleague who committed suicide. At his funeral, I looked into his casket, and I felt that if something did not change, I could be him. My sister invited me to church on a few occasions, and I would go sometimes. One Wednesday after this funeral, a man named Tim Milligan called me to the altar and asked me to pray with him. God filled me with the Holy Ghost, and I have not looked back. Tim, who was the evangelism director of the church, became my mentor. We had weekly check-ins that would prove to be my turning point.
One year later, I met my wife, who is from England, at a singles conference in Memphis, Tennessee. We married in 2013, and in 2016, I moved to London, England. The pain and emptiness that I once felt have enabled me to minister to those who feel the same. No more playing games, but walking in purpose and destiny!
