I Made A Conscious Decision

I grew up in church and, as many would say, I was “born a Christian”. However, I made a conscious decision to give my life to Christ in 2008 at the age of 16 and was baptised shortly afterwards.

It’s safe to say that life hasn’t always been straightforward since then. If I’m honest, there have been many moments when I felt like giving up. Yet through every season, God’s Word has remained my greatest source of life, strength, wisdom and direction.

As I’ve grown from being a boy into a man striving to be after God’s own heart, God’s Word has been the one constant. As a husband, father, businessman, teammate, colleague and friend, the only thing that truly keeps me grounded is the Word of God.

That is my living testimony each and every day.

My encouragement to anyone reading this is simple: giving your life to Christ is the best decision you can ever make. But that decision must be followed by intentionality. Build your relationship with Him through reading, meditating on and memorising His Word.

Joshua 1:8–9 (ERV) says:

“Always remember what is written in that book of law. Speak about that book and study it day and night. Then you can be sure to obey what is written there. If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything you do. Remember, I commanded you to be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid, because the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

No matter what season you find yourself in today, stay in the Word. Let it shape your thinking, strengthen your faith and guide your steps. God’s Word is not just something to read; it is something to live.

Be encouraged.
