My father physically abused me with constant beatings from the ages of eight to sixteen. I found this very hard to get over, as I was one of ten children and the only one who was beaten. I went to school with marks on my face and told the teachers that my cat had scratched me, but I didn’t have a cat at the time.
I was beaten with all sorts of objects, and I still have scars on my body to prove it.
Even after the Lord saved me at the age of seventeen, I found it very hard to get over what had happened to me, and I felt like I was the only one in my family who was not loved.
I didn’t talk to my dad for five years because of the abuse I had received, even though I used to drive past his house every day.
One day, I prayed and asked the Lord to fix anything in me that was not right. The Lord said to me, “What about your issues with your father?” I told the Lord that it was very hard for me to forgive him. The Lord reminded me of the things I had done myself, and that He had forgiven me, so I should forgive my father too. I told the Lord that it was very hard for me to do so, and that I needed Him to help me forgive my dad. As soon as I opened my mouth and asked the Lord for help, there was an immediate release. The Lord released me, and that burden was lifted.
I called my dad at the very same moment the Lord released me. I invited him to the church I was attending, and he visited a few times. He liked the church and started attending it too. Very soon after, the Lord saved my father, and within a few months, my father died.
When I look back, I know that it was all part of God’s plan. God healed me so that I could witness to my father, so that God could save him. I know now that there is nothing too hard for God.
